WAIT LIST OPENING
Low Income Public Housing Program
Gregory Circle, Woodend Road and Birch Drive
The Stratford Housing Authority will be accepting PRE-APPLICATIONS for its Low Income Public Housing Program. The procedure will be as follows:
1. On February 1 and 2, 2012, at the Baldwin Apartments Community Room, 75-A Griffen Street, Stratford, CT, 06615, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., you or a representative must personally pick up a pre-application. Everyone who arrives on those days and within the times stated will receive a pre-application. There is no need to arrive early to wait in line.
2. All completed pre-applications must be returned by 4:00 p.m. on February 2, 2012 to 75-A Griffen Street. No pre-applications will be accepted after that time.
3. Only one pre-application per household will be accepted. If more than one pre-application is received from a household, all pre-applications will be rejected. Incomplete pre-applications will be rejected. Pre-applications must bear the original signature of head of household and date or will be considered incomplete, and rejected.
4. Pre-applications received will be placed in a lottery drawing. 200 pre-applications will be initially drawn to fill the waiting list for the following bedroom sizes: 2 bedroom – 50, 3 bedroom – 100; 4 bedroom – 50.
5. The Authority reserves the right to continue drawing until an adequate number of eligible pre-applications for each category is received, not to exceed the maximum noted above. Selection from the waiting list will be in accordance with the Authority’s Administrative Plan.
6. The lottery draw will be held on February 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at 75-A Griffen Street, Stratford, CT, by an independent third party. Applicants need not be present. All applicants will be notified via regular mail regarding the results of the draw.
7. The Stratford Housing Authority does not discriminate based upon race, color, disability, financial status, religion, sex or national origin. The Authority has determined, based upon experience, number of applicants on the waiting list, and the anticipated number of admissions, that 200 pre-applications will provide an adequate pool of persons likely to qualify for the Low Income Public Housing Program.

Stratford Housing Authority
Privacy Protection Policy
It shall be the policy of the Stratford Housing Authority to comply with all applicable laws, acts and regulations regarding privacy protection related to the possession of personal information of another person. This includes ensuring the protection of the confidentiality of personal information, prohibiting the unlawful disclosure of personal information and limiting access to personal information. Privacy protection of personal information shall be extended to employees, tenants, landlords, vendors, customers and any other person deemed to be covered by any applicable law, act or regulation.
Personal information shall be defined as:
Information capable of being associated with a particular individual through one or more identifiers, including but not limited to, a Social Security number, a driver’s license number, a state identification card number, an account number, a credit or debit card number, a passport number, an alien registration number, a health insurance identification number, including information obtained from the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Enterprise Income Verification System (EIV).
The definition of personal information does not include publicly available information that is lawfully made available to the general public from federal, state or local government records or widely distributed media.
The Stratford Housing Authority shall safeguard the data, computer files and documents containing the information from misuse by third parties by requiring employees, who are in possession or control of any files which contain personal information, to lock such information in a file cabinet at the end of the day, and to take appropriate measures to prevent access by unauthorized users at all times. This will include requiring employees who leave their office for any reason during the day, to secure all files containing personal information either by locking their office or putting the file in a file cabinet and locking the cabinet. When leaving the office for the day, all files are to be secured by locking them in a file cabinet and the office locked. Employees shall also be instructed that data, computer files and documents containing personal information shall be destroyed, erased or made unreadable prior to disposal.
The Authority shall require that any demand for personal information be immediately reported to the Executive Director or Deputy Director who shall determine the appropriate course of action. Stratford Housing Authority Counsel shall be consulted as necessary.

Meeting Minutes: Minutes of the Stratford Housing Authority meetings are posted on the website for the Town of Stratford, Connecticut. You can access the minutes by going to the Town’s website. On the lower left-hand side of the home page there is a "box" containing the words "Licenses, Permits & Forms". If you left mouse click on that box, you'll be taken to the file folder containing all the minutes, agendas and other forms. Alternatively, if you go to the top of any webpage, to the bar containing the words "Home - Residents - Government - Visitors - Businesses", and mouse over the words "Residents" or "Government", a new menu will appear containing the words "Boards & Commissions". If you "mouse over" the words "Boards & Commissions", a tab will pop out to the left containing the words "Agendas & Minutes". If you click on that tab you'll be taken to the file folder containing all the minutes, agendas and other forms.

The Housing Authority regular hours are 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. From approximately July 1st to August 31st the Authority will be on summer hours and the offices will be open from 8:00 AM until 5:30 PM.
